UnityNyaya is a Sanskrit word that means divine law.

Nyaya Yoga was born when Renu Namjoshi, a Vedic Astrologer and Yoga Counselor, and Dr. Stephanie Shorter, a Neuroscientist and Yoga Researcher, met at a Yoga conference in Houston in 2011. A collaboration between Neuroscience and Yogic Sciences naturally ensued, as they were both eager to learn more about each other’s respective areas of study into the complex nature of the mind and consciousness.

With Nyaya Yoga, you are entering a unique realm of study and practice. Our focus is to help build flexibility, resilience, strength and endurance of the mind by incorporating ancient Yogic wisdom with modern neuroscience research that corroborates these ancient teachings.

We believe that there is no conflict between science and spirituality. Science investigates the physical world while spirituality deals with the non-physical world. These are not contradictory but complementary windows into our existence that we must embrace in the 21st century.

Our aim is to give you a much deeper understanding of Yogic principles than typical Yoga asana trainings. We hope to spread knowledge that people from all walks and professions of life (not just Hatha Yoga practitioners) can employ in their own creative and intuitive way for greater personal and global transformation.
